Aeons and Polyliths

My creative practice is a search for the universal soul within an object, creating a presence that makes the date of its manufacture irrelevant. I am drawn to primordial materials and elemental shapes that feel as if they have always been invented. These pieces rely on clean lines and raw power.

Aeons

Aeon: Primordial Timber

The Aeon series (Irish bog wood) is an atemporal exploration of timber preserved by the earth for millennia. It is a primordial* organic material to a level of preciousness. I reclaim ancient material, elevating an ancient organic material to the level of a precious, modern artifact

Research Framework

Polyliths

Polylith (for the Marble sculptures): This word bridges marble’s status as the literal foundation of classical architecture with the assertive, meticulously finished blocks of your contemporary practice, grounding the work in a sense of permanence that spans eras

Archetypal Geometry: The Cube and the Block

I focus on archetypal forms—geometric blocks and cubes that feel embedded in our collective DNA. This approach prioritizes the texture of the material. By stripping away the ornamental, the work achieves a *monastic simplicity, inviting a serene sense of silence and stillness into a room.
